Some of the greatest portrait photographs of the twentieth century were taken for, or published in, Vanity Fair. This remarkable selection of 150 classic images features works from the magazine displayed for the first time including Albert Einstein, Charlie Chaplin and Jean Harlow. And from the magazine‘s re-launch in 1983, the works of photographers including Annie Leibovitz, Helmut Newton, Bruce Weber and Mario Testino. National Portrait Gallery celebrates the glamour and history of one of the most famous magazines of the 20th century.

The V&A’s spring exhibition, China Design Now, will explore the recent explosion of new design in China, from the 2008 Olympic stadium to the most interesting fashion and graphics. The exhibition captures a dynamic phase as China opens up to global influences, and looks at developments in three rapidly expanding cities - Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. It will display the work of Chinese and international designers, focusing on architecture, fashion, youth culture and graphics.
