Nowadays more and more foreigners – English teachers, businessmen, students, tourists etc. are coming to stay here for various business reasons, to live here or simply to visit Slovakia and get to know its natural beauty and culture. As they need to communicate they tend to need to acquire the Slovak language, which is not always easy.

One of the first tasks they have to get over is mastering Slovak pronunciation and to become acquainted with the phonetic value of Slovak vowels and consonants as it does not correspond to English phonetic value. So let’s go ahead and try to understand the peculiarities of   Slovak language pronunciation.
