Coca Cola PopStar - Slovakia Has a New Star

The last Friday in May heralded the result of the Coca Cola PopStar competition in Slovakia. Five people competed in the final which took place in the Aréna Theatre in Bratislava.

Four people won through from the semi-final in April to the final show, but in response to the interest of fans on the Internet, the organisers also gave a wild card to the fifth finalist. In the stiff competition student Mária Čírová’s singing gave her first place in this eighth year of the singer/songwriter competition. She has really started her career very well, as she won just one day after her successful schoolleaving exam at the Church School of Music in Bratislava where she had studied piano. Her unquestionable right to this triumph is supported by the fact that Mária’s talent appealed to the journalist jury. Previously in the semi-final, it was decided to give her the title of Coca Cola Media Star.

According to professionals, she has great potential to reach the top in the field of music. She looks great, sings excellently and she seems relaxed and really fresh on stage. The title Coca Cola Internet Star, which is awarded by voters on the Internet, was won by Michal Varga.
