Bird Valley in Humenné – Amusement Park Costing 3.5 Billions Crowns to Be Built in Humenné

The future will show whether the name will be retained. Construction work should begin in the spring of 2009 with total investment estimated at 100 – 125 million EUR. Three medium size amusement parks, with diff erent themes based on the rich history of Slovakia, will be the main attractions of the park.

Let´s be afraid…
In the Lady Bathory park, Slovak mysteries and scary stories will be the central theme. There will be mysterious rides, upside-down castles, water with a strange smell glittering in the pools and mining cars will take curious visitors below ground to discover treasures. The ruins of the Blood Countess’s castle will dominate the skulině above the gloomy-looking park.

Romance with Sissi
A far more pleasant and sunnier park, with swans and colourful peacocks will be named after the Austro-Hungarian Empress Sissi. All visitors will be able to enjoy not only a castle with a tearoom but also a Fairy Tale Forest, where characters of the most beautiful Slovak fairy tales will live.

Jánošík will be there, too
What kind of presentation of our history would it be if the creators forgot the legendary hero Juraj Jánošík? They did not. Visitors will enter his park through real fortifications. A beautiful view of the castle in the middle of a lake will be hidden behind a medieval square. A gypsy orchestra will play on the terrace of the water mill. The most interesting attraction of the Jánošík park should be a stunning wooden bell roller coaster.

Nowhere without wellness
In the wellness hotel with thermal spas, visitors will be able to choose from 350 elegant luxury rooms and suites. According to the speaker of the Prešov Self-Governing region Veronika Fitzeková, an urban study is being elaborated at present. This emphasises the environmental impacts of the project.
