One place in the Low Carpathian Wine Route attracts gourmets from all over Slovakia as well as from abroad – Slovenský Grob and its baked geese. A new family business brings together local specialities and quality wines - Grobský Dvor (Grob Yard). It is easy to find it, it‘s located just at the entrance to the village from Bratislava - Vajnory.

International Theatre Festival Divadelná Nitra 2008

The biggest and one of the most important international non-governmental events in Slovakia, this is a non-competitive review of various styles and types of performing arts, concentrating on dramatic productions but also featuring musical, movement, puppet and visual theatre productions as well. The festival presents unconventional, innovative, and controversial works of young European authors visual theatre productions.

Košice Peace Marathon

The word marathon has been heard in this area since 1924, when 8 brave souls, inspired by the olympic marathon in Paris were sent off by Vojtech Bukovsky, founder of the Košice marathon, on their first great adventure. Today this marathon, the biggest, and one of the most significant events in Slovakia takes pride in the attributes of being the oldest marathon in Europe - only the Boston Marathon in America in operation for more years.

Bluegrassfest 2008

The 3rd year of the international festival of bluegrass and acoustic music. We will see 24 excellent bands from 7 countries playing various types of blue-grass and related music. The programme will also include foreign bands from Sweden, Poland, Netherlands, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The first year of Bratislava Jazz Days was 1975 and since then it has became a European class festival with annual appearances of world jazz stars such as Chick Corea & Gary Burton, Oregon, John McLauglin, Stanley Clarke, Bobby McFerrin, Flora Purim & Airto Moreira, Lester Bowie & Bras Fantasy, Billy Cobham, Sun Ra Arkestra, Michael Brecker and more.
