Slovak Paradise (Slovenský raj) is visited by tourists all year round. On offer are approximately 300 km of marked hiking trails equipped with ladders, chains and bridges on which hikers can experience the real passion of hiking. Slovenský raj is dominated by numerous gorges with a vast variety of fauna and flora. There are more than 350 caves to be found in Slovak Paradise, but only the Dobšinská Ice Cave, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is open to the public. The highest peak in the park is Predná Hoľa reaching 1,545 m above sea level. Abundant waterfalls, amongst which the most famous are Závojový waterfall (literally Veil Waterfall) and Veľký waterfall (literally Big waterfall), evoke the feeling of a real paradise on earth.
